American user Mr. P.A.’s ring die usage record of Hongyang Machinery

In December 2024, Mr. P.A., an American feed industry practitioner, came to China. Under the recommendation of European customers, he selected Hongyang Feed Machinery Co., Ltd. among many factories and ordered a CPM country100 ring die for trial production for his customers.

After five weeks of running the ring die, Mr. P.A. compared it with the American equipment used in the same shop. During the return visit, he provided the following information: “When the ring die purchased by a local company in the United States was used for 2 weeks, the bell mouth suffered destructive wear and could no longer be used. For a specific material, Hongyang can select or adjust parameters such as aperture, effective length, taper, etc. based on its physical characteristics instead of applying general specifications. The ring mold and hole pattern scheme used by Mr. P.A. are matched based on the characteristics of the feed formula actually produced.

The ring mold is the core component of the granulation equipment. The hole structure directly affects the discharging efficiency, particle molding quality and mold life. Different materials have significant differences in fluidity, friction coefficient, moisture content sensitivity and granulation characteristics during the granulation process. They have different requirements for the hole shape, aperture, effective length, inlet taper, inner wall smoothness and other parameters of the ring die.

Material & Manufacturing Process Control

Hongyang selects specific grades of materials on the material side and has clear process requirements for the forging ratio and tempering hardness of the ring die blanks. After the die hole is processed, the inner wall smoothness is controlled within the specified range to reduce the material extrusion resistance.
