Feed mixing is a key step in the feed production process. If the feed is not mixed properly, the ingredients and nutrients will not be distributed correctly when extrusion and granulation are required, or if the feed is to be used as mash. Therefore, the feed mixer plays a vital role in the feed pellet plant as it directly affects the quality of feed pellets.
Poultry feed mixers serve to uniformly mix various raw material powders, sometimes requiring the use of liquid addition equipment to add liquid nutrients for better mixing. After a high degree of mixing, the material is ready for the production of high-quality feed pellets.
Poultry feed mixers come in various sizes and capacities depending on the amount of feed required. Some machines can process hundreds of kilograms of feed per batch, while others can mix tons of feed at a time.
The machine consists of a large bucket or drum with rotating blades or paddles that spin and blend ingredients together as they are added to the bucket. The speed at which the blades rotate can be adjusted to ensure proper mixing. Some poultry feed mixers also include a weighing system to measure the exact amount of each ingredient added to the feed.
Once the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, the feed is either discharged from the bottom of the machine or transported to a storage facility for later distribution to the poultry farm.
