Biomass pellet machine is a mechanical equipment that uses agricultural and forestry processing waste such as wood chips, straw, rice husks, bark and other biomass as raw materials, and solidifies them into high-density particulate fuel through pre-treatment and processing. Below are several major factors that affect the lifespan of biomass pellet machines.

1. Control material moisture well
The moisture content of the material is too low, the hardness of the processed product is too strong, and the equipment power consumption during processing is high, which increases the production cost of the enterprise and reduces the service life of the biomass pellet machine.
Excessive moisture makes it difficult to crush, increasing the number of impacts on the hammer. At the same time, heat is generated due to material friction and hammer impact, causing the internal moisture of the processed product to evaporate. The evaporated moisture forms a paste with the crushed fine powder, blocking the sieve holes and reducing the discharge of the biomass pellet machine.
Therefore, the moisture content of crushed products made from raw materials such as grains and corn stalks is generally controlled below 14%.

2. Maintain the oiliness of the die
At the end of material crushing, mix a small amount of wheat husk with edible oil and put it into the machine. After pressing for 1-2 minutes, stop the machine to fill the die hole of the biomass pellet machine with oil, so that it can be fed and produced next time it is started, which not only maintains the die but also saves time. After the biomass pellet machine is shut down, loosen the pressure wheel adjustment screw and remove the residual material.

3. Maintain good hardware lifespan
A permanent magnet cylinder or iron remover can be installed at the feed inlet of the biomass pellet machine to avoid affecting the service life of the pressure roller, die, and central shaft. During the extrusion process, the temperature of particulate fuel can reach as high as 50-85℃, and the pressure roller bears strong passive force during operation, but lacks necessary and effective dust protection devices. Therefore, every 2-5 working days, the bearings must be cleaned and high-temperature resistant grease must be added. The main shaft of the biomass pellet machine should be cleaned and refueled every other month, and the gearbox should be cleaned and maintained every six months. The screws of the transmission part should be tightened and replaced at any time.
